Bright Yellow and Frill Hem

This outfit was taken a little while ago, when some bare legs and a panama hat were still appropriate and even necessary. I've had this little sundress from Forever 21 for a long time, and while it's so cute and easy to wear by itself, I also love to layer it with other pieces to get more variety - in this case, I'm layering a simple t-shirt to showcase its favourite feature of mine: the frill hem. Another way I layered it was using it as a top paired with a different skirt, as seen here.

Aside from yellow, other colours of this J.Crew vintage t-shirt I've collected are gray, blue, and pink. I'm constantly wearing them, especially the gray one - but to my surprise, I cannot find one single outfit with such tee on the blog! How outrageous. Hmmm, I'll definitely have to change that!

Tissue Tee and Distressed Jeans

The first thought that popped into my head when seeing these pictures was: why didn't I see the wrinkles when I put the tee on? (My sincere apologies if this was your first thought too!) The second thought was: maybe I should consider getting highlights?! Anyways, back to the outfit - an ultra soft tissue tee paired with some ripped skinny boyfriend jeans, how can you get more casual than that? Oh right, with some woven strap-sandals and all-over-the-place hair, that's how.

Summer is officially over as of end of today, which means: layer season is here. This long sleeved tissue tee has served me well in layering in the past (see here and here), and since most of my fall and winter clothes are of neutral colours, I will probably reach for this top whenever I need a little extra boost.

Striped Tee and Sheer Layered Skirt

My going out uniform nowadays usually involves a striped tee, to "fancy" it up for a birthday lunch, I paired it with one of my favourite skirts and some neutral accessories. I would not call myself a pattern mixer in a million years, which is why I was especially pleased at how well the stripes and the skirt's geometric pattern went together.

This skirt - my love for it has not faded one bit since the day I bought it, actually I think I'm loving it more and more as I wear it. It's super forgiving, (can't get any better than an elastic waist), has a great color, (navy goes with everything right?) with a gorgeous and versatile pattern, and most importantly, the layers are of such soft and breezy fabric that moves along with you. The slightly sheer effect? Icing on the cake.
